The Orb
As you may already have noticed I come up with pretty far-fetched theories sometimes – and this one is no different, except I now believe that there may be more than a grain of truth in it.
I’ve attached a foto I took in 2006 in a particular spot (in the middle of nowhere) in South Ayrshire with a brand new digital camera. I was playing around with it and when I played it back had lots of foto’s like, and even better than this one.
Anyway, a while back I had cause to be in the area again, driving to a party with a friend and we took a few wrong turnings. I was telling her about the orbs and the energy of the place when suddenly I realised we were at ‘the spot’. I remembered everything vividly and told her the story of how I came to take the fotos… I had been wild camping with my partner and my lovely, in-tune Alsation, Kes…
Before darkness fell on a lovely day, we had set up the tent and campfire, found a burn (small river) for water and had dinner, all the while playing around with the new camera. As it was becoming dark we stayed close to the fire, mostly to help stave off the midge attack with smoke, as any Scot will advise you to do.
Taking photo’s of the fire and shadows was great fun as we captured beautiful shots in the flames and the ruins of an old mill nearby. Kes was a very proud dog and loved the attention, so taking shots of her was easy… and that’s when we spotted the orbs.
In one picture, I was sitting on a tree stump at almost exactly the same level as Kes’ head with an orb bang in the centre of us, hanging in mid- air!
We began to look through what we’d taken and soon found lots of very clear pics with orbs around us in various ways; some faint and some extremely clear and close-up. We were both very excited but being logical, looked for dust on the lens, moisture in the atmosphere or any other factor which could produce these weird and wonderful objects.
It was around this time that I took command of the camera and successfully (stupidly) deleted most of the best pics! As soon as I realised what I’d done I began taking random shots of the dog and the area where we were sitting. Sure enough, I got more, but none as good as before. Often afterwards I’d reflect on the camping trip and wonder what I’d witnessed.
So, explanation complete, Irene and I carried on to our destination, set up our tent and went to party for a few hours, retiring to bed and just about to drop off – when the thoughts struck me.

What if… these orbs are pure electricity/ energy which pick up and transfer information to a receptive person, maybe thousands of miles away at the speed of light, or faster?
What if… we are sending out our intent, continuously?
What if… we get these signals all the time but don’t always pay attention?
What if… we could harness this energy further and develop stronger communication channels?
What if… I’ve stumbled upon something that hasn’t yet been thought of or described in this way? I couldn’t be so arrogant so it became a mission to find out more.
I practice Reiki at Master/ Teacher level and basically in distant healing sessions we focus on positive thoughts while ‘sending’ or directing a healing or loving energy to someone who asks for it or requires support – always with permission, even if that is on an energetic /mental/ spiritual plane – as a matter of respect to that person.
In most cases there is only a feeling of peace as we immerse our minds in a meditation sensing only peace, love and harmony.
Occasionally there can be a feeling or sense of rejection, a clear indicator that there is no need to interfere in that person’s business. It’s as if the receiver doesn’t want or need anything. It’s only right to respect this.
As I’ve experienced this myself, I’d describe this as a form of communication.
I believe that we beome ‘open’ to having these experiences when we’re in our most relaxed state, when our mind is free. I’m certain that we access this as we enter the ‘gap’ – a place of being and not being at once; the space in our busy minds when we choose to let go…
I’m now wondering if these orbs surround us permanently and carry our thoughts to different places; thought being electrical impulses.
This also fits perfectly with personal experiences of ‘conversations’ with my mother (and a very close friend who’s life was taken by another) after death – sometimes during Reiki sessions and at other times in my life.
We often say that thoughts create our reality so again; what if…
I’ve read about things happening in different places at the same time, or similar theories appearing by scientists who’ve had no communication and there seems to be no real explanation of how that happened.
ESP seems to be a good example; thinking about a friend and they call you on the phone moments later. Since initially writing this theory I’ve noticed on how many occasions these ‘coincidences’ occur.
I tried to find information on my own theory but the links below are the closest information-wise I could gather. There’s plenty of evidence to suggest similar interests have been experimented with by the military of [at least] the UK and USA an example of which is ‘Men Who Stare At Goats’.

In Chymestry of Isaac Newton he writes about Alchemy quoting from ‘Artephius, His Secret Book‘ advising us to “Think of it profoundly”

I’ve long debated with myself about the validity of my own theory and have put it to some friends, one of whom reminded me that light only travels in straight lines, therefore rendering the theory impossible – disputed by another learned friend as he reminded me of refraction and prisms.
Quantum physics is often thought to be a subject only for higher minds, for scientists or avatars but to me it was simplified by one statement; ‘quantum physics is the science of possibility.’
This alone opened up the science to me, removing any fear of humiliation; after all – anything’s possible, given the right set of circumstances.
Perhaps my theory is the subject of a curious and imaginative mind or maybe a crock of the proverbial, but I happen to think it’s every bit as possible, as the string theory.
I welcome and appreciate your thoughts on this or if you have links or information to support/ disprove the theory.
